Board/Committee Name:   Architectural Review Committee

Purpose:   The purpose of the Architectural Review Committee is to ensure enhanced property development while maintaining and encouraging quality character of design within the Ponte Vedra and Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Overlay Districts in line with the goals and objectives of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan.

General Qualifications:   Seeking applicants who are a registered architect in the State of Florida or a retired architect formerly registered in the State of Florida and reside within the Ponte Vedra Zoning District or within District 4, but outside of the Ponte Vedra Zoning District. Regular members as well as alternates serve a term of four (4) years.

Roster Info:   The purpose of the Architectural Review Committee is to ensure enhanced property development while maintaining and encouraging quality character of design within the Ponte Vedra and Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Overlay Districts in line with the goals and objectives of the St. Johns County Comprehensive Plan. The ARC is established by Ordinance 2011-20 (Section VIII.Q.6.a Ponte Vedra Zoning District Regulations). The ARC is charged with determining compliance with the Development Standards & Criteria of Section VIII.Q.5.d Architectural Design Standards and Section VIII.Q.5.e, Design Elements & Materials. The ARC shall consist of five (5) members, and two (2) alternates, three (3) of whom possess through professional training or experience, competence in the fields of architecture, design, planning, landscape architecture or other relevant expertise. The ARC meets every fourth Wednesday from 5-8:30 p.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Regular members as well as alternates serve a term of four (4) years.
