1. The required backflow preventer is required to be electronically monitored by the fire alarm panel. This is achieved by placement of tamper switches on OS&Y valves on top of BFP. While the Fire Alarm contractor will take care of this, during the underground review, a note on the underground fire main plan stating the Fire underground contractor will coordinate the placement of conduit during the installation the underground fire main from the BFP to the building that will house the fire alarm panel with the site contractor or fire alarm contractor. If conduit isn't installed at this stage, it will require trench cutting of new asphalt or concrete.
Note #12 on the utility plane states the backflow preventer will be electronically monitored via wire in a conduit. Please provide the type of conduit to be used and show it on the plans.
