Thursday, June 20, 2024 1300 hrs. DF: Spoke with Architect Conner Dowling via phone regarding the classification of this building as Historical. After discussion, Mr. Dowling stated that he is going to classify this building as Historical with work falling under NFPA Chapter 43.10.1(2) which will utilize Sections 43.3, 43.4, 43.5, 43.6, and 43.7 as they relate according to 101:43.10.1(2).

Lucas, Supervisor Survey, Registration, and Technical Services Bureau of Historical Preservation, Florida Department of State providing information regarding the Historical Status and uses of the building. The letter calls out the historical status of the building and appears to provide some relief from ADA requirements and calls out how the 1st floor is being largely preserved and rehabilitated as an event hall and the 2nd story portion is to be maintained as unoccupied, publicly inaccessible storage.
This letter is being scanned into this permits archive.

The third-party contractor must conduct a two-way radio communication test in accordance with NFPA 1:11.10 and NFPA 1225.
St Johns County Fire Rescue’s radio control frequency is 853.8875.
You will need to submit a revision prior to the 105 framing inspection to have the hold removed.
-If it passes the inspection radio testing, you will need to submit as a revision so we can record the passing test and remove the hold. - If the third-party paperwork indicates the test is not satisfactory, the revision will need to include: the unsatisfactory test paperwork, outline of corrective measures, and plans to illustrate the corrective measures to meet requirements provided by the design professional. Then at the final, you will be required to provide satisfactory testing by the third-party contractor following the installation of the in-building radio enhancement system.
