1) Delayed Egress Door 118: The exit sign on Sheet LS101 is shown on the wrong side of the door. Per the approved Life Safety Sheet; LS101 and the approved Electrical Sheet E102, the exit sign is on the egress side of the door (from Corridor 118). The Exit sign on the provided Sheet LS101 shows the Exit sign on the ingress (Waiting Room) side of the door. The

The door swing is into corridor 118. The Delayed-Egress Push Button and Signage is identified to be on the ingress side of the door.

a)  How will the occupant exit through Door 118 from the Egress side with the Delayed-Egress releasing devices on the ingress side of the door?

b)  If the door swing is to be changed to accompany the Delayed-Egress panic hardware; a Revision to the approved construction plans will need to be submitted for the door swing.

c)  Identify which Push Button is going to be used and provide the manufacturer’s spec sheets for the push button to be used demonstrating it is ANSI/UL 294 compliant.

Identify on plans the location of the Push Button.

2) Delayed Egress Door 200B: The exit sign on Sheet LS0201 is shown on the wrong side of 2the door. Per the approved Life Safety Sheet; LS201 and the approved Electrical Sheet E202, the exit sign is on the egress side of the door (from secured side). The Exit sign on the provided Sheet LS101 shows the Exit sign on the ingress (Waiting Room) side of the door.

The door swing is into the secure side of the door. The Delayed-Egress Push Button and Signage is identified to be on the ingress side of the door.

a)  How will the occupant exit through Door 118 from the Egress side with the Delayed-Egress releasing devices on the ingress side of the door?

Identify on plans the location of the Push Button.

3) Door 118 is addressed again on page 4 of 6 of the Building comments Preliminary Review (in Red). Here it indicates the door will have Delayed-Egress with panic hardware and There will be a push button to deactivate the delayed-egress rim exit device to allow egress. Also, there will be a motion sensor on the egress side for redundancy. Delayed-Egress signage is being in stalled stating” Push until alarm sounds…”

From what I can tell the door will have both Delayed-Egress AND Sensor-Release of electrical Locking Systems.

a)  Is it the intent to use both Delayed-Egress AND Sensor-Release on this door? Keep in mind that the Sensor-Release will over-=ride the Delayed-Egress each time someone approaches the door. And that you will have a Push Button to intermittently deactivate the Delayed-Egress to allow egress.

See comment #1 for additional information regarding this door.

4) Doors 100A & 100B appear to be operating like Sensor-Release of Electrical Locking Systems (101:7.2.1.6.2).

Show on plans the location of the motion sensor and push to exit button.

5) Door 200B. Information provided indicates it will be setup in the same manner as Door 118 above. Same comments and questions as for Door 118.
