1) I am only able to find one means of egress from the dining area. 101:12.2.4.1

Provide a second means of egress from the Dining Room.

2) The corridor from the Dining Room to the bathroom is 24’. Max length is 20 per 101:12.2.5.1.3.

Adjust the plans so the max travel distance is 20’ or less.

3) The Type 1 Hood and its Suppression system is to be deferred submittals and Inspection holds have been placed for them.

There are several Sheets with Type 1 Hoods and suppression information on them. You will either have to remove the sheets or provide statement on the Sheets such as “DEFFERRED SUBMITTAL”, or “FOR INFORMATION ONLY”.

Sheets affected are: M-4, H1, H2, H3, H4, and H5.

4) There is an 8’ HVLS fan in the dining area. This fan will have to be tied into the building Sprinkler Monitoring FACP to comply with NFPA 13:11.1.7.

A 109 HOLD INSP has been placed for a Fire Alarm Permit.

5) Emergency lighting shown on Sheet E1 is provided by wall packs which are typically designed to be installed approximately 8’ AFF on the wall and provide an egress path 3’ or 6’ in width and 8’ or more to each side. The wall packs shown on this sheet are few and some are placed over equipment. There are areas that have little to no EL coverage.

a) Provide El coverage throughout the egress paths meeting 101:7.9, AND

b) Provide the manufacturer’s spec sheets so I can verify coverage, OR

c) Provide Emergency Lighting Photometrics demonstrating compliance with NFPA 101:7.9.2.1.1.

6) How will you ensure the area in front of the electrical panels will remain clear of storage? NFPA 70:110.26(A)(1),(2),(3)

7) Sheet K101 notes NUCO2 Tank System (alarm). However, there is information that is missing for it to be accepted as indicated.  A revision will be required to show more system detail.  Ensure that you indicate the CO2 line runs and locations, indicating whether they are run above ceiling or below the slab.  If they are above the ceiling, any areas below the lines will need to be protected with sensors unless the CO2 line is installed in sealed conduit.  Identify the location of the sensors, the control unit and the required strobes for occupant notification.

A hold has been placed on the permit for this revision.

8) I was not able to locate any Carbon Monoxide Detectors/alarm in the kitchen and at the 1st supply register from the A/C RTU’s 1, 2 and 3. 101:12.3.4.4

Provide CO detectors in the location required by 101:12.3.4.4
