1) Looking at A0.1 this business space was provided with a 1 hour separation to the adjacent suite labeled as business. Our records show suite 106 as a mercantile and suite 4 as an assembly.

a) show correct/updated occupancy classes for adjacent suite and suite to the rear of this unit.

b) show separation between occupancies as allowed by 101:6.1.14.4.1(a).

NOTE: If you choose to take the 1 hour reduction in separation allowed by 101:6.1.14.4.1(a), upon resubmittal make sure to provide documentation on fire alarm  or sprinkler contractor letter head from the respective contractor that sprinkler system is electronically supervised (including the backflow preventer and/or PIV's). 101:9.7.2.1.1

Friday, March 8, 2024 Response to comments indicate "Occupancy Separation: Occupancy classes for the adjacent units have been updated. Please see sheet A0.1. One hour fire wall to remain. Please see the attached letter from the fire sprinkler contractor." Letter from Fire alarm contractor Ike with Dynamic Security said "sprinkler monitoring fire alarm system in place which also includes the backflow preventers." Since I wasn't sure if a) there was a fire alarm system and there were back flows or if he meant b) the fire alarm monitored the backflow I decided to call Ike. He confirmed that yes the backflow had tampers that are electronically supervised by the fire alarm.

Plans do show 1 hour separation adjacent mercantile.
