Fire Dept Connection shall:
- 36" clearance in front and side of FDC
- Have check valve (NFPA 13)
- Have caps in place. (NFPA 24 5.9.1)

General Requirements:
- Top of the pipe shall be buried not less than 2 1/2 ft to prevent mechanical damage (NFPA 24:10.4.3)
- Pipe under driveways shall be buried at a minimum depth of 3 ft (NFPA 24:10.4.4)
- All aboveground pipe (including backflow) shall be protected against freezing. (NFPA 24:10.5.1)
- Backflow preventer shall be chained and locked unless otherwise required by the Fire or Bldg Code (NFPA 24:6.7.2)
**Pipe being installed is required to be pressure tested. If it is an extension of existing pipe, new pipe must be isolated by a valve or the entire pipe will be required to be pressurized back to the backflow preventer.**

OR call 904-209-1740 press 1, then press 2.
INFORMATIONAL: Your permit fee includes the cost of review, one hydrostatic test inspection and one final inspection. If you will require more than one hydro/visual inspection you will need to call 209-1740 x 1 to arrange payment.
