Plan reviewed for New Type 1 Grease Hood, 16’-0” Long by 60” Deep with two 20”x12” Rear Exhaust Duct to one 24” Double Wall Factory Horizontal Duct to exterior wall Fan Assembly (CaptiveAire USBI24DD-RM).

Reviewed using FFPC 7th edition effective Dec. 31, 2020. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC.

RESUBMITTING:
A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the permit center. You may not make handwritten alterations on signed and sealed plan pages.
B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages or insert new pages in EACH plan set (Job and Office). One copy of the removed/old pages from the JOB Copy will need to be submitted and marked "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated to this permit. All plan papers must be the same size.
C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation. Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional.
- The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comments was addressed. EX - "Top Left of Page E1-1" or "Page E1 Note 8".
- Code responses shall reference Florida Fire Prevention Code, 8th Ed.

 

1) Plans shown are not drawn to scale. I.E. Sheet M101-N is drawn to 1/8” = 1’-0”. When measured against the plans Sheet scale ruler the Architect Ruler and the Sheet Ruler do not match.

Provide plan sheets that are drawn to scale.
 

2) There are Sheets that contain Fire Suppression Systems / Details. The Suppression system is to be a deferred / separate submittal. Either remove the Sheets with suppression details, drawings, etc. or, place a NOTE on the Sheet stating “THE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM IS NOT A PART OF THIS PERMIT / INFOMATIONAL ONLY”

 

3) Provide manufacturer spec sheets on the exhaust fan assembly.

 

4) Provide Elevation of the wall the hood will be installed on. The Equipment Plan Sheet shows it on an existing wall and a new wall extension. The plans show the two portions of the wall are of different material. 96:4.2

Provide an elevation(s) showing the makeup/construction of the hybrid wall.

 

5) Provide a wall elevation of the exterior wall the duct will be penetrating. Demonstrate compliance with 96:7.8.3.

 

6) I am not able to determine the separation of the duct fan assembly to the adjacent exterior wall. 96.7.8.3(1)

Provide the wall make-up of the exterior wall the duct fan is adjacent to.

 

7) I am unable to determine the length of the horizontal duct and the percent of slope. 96:7.1.4

Provide dimensions and percentages of slope for the horizontal duct.

 

8) I do not see where the drain is located on the horizontal duct. 96:7.1.4.3, 96:7.8.3(5)

 

9) Identify the personnel entry of the duct. 96:7.4.1

 

10) I am not able to find the access panel information. 96:7.4.3

Provide information on the Access Panel.

 

11) Demonstrate the exhaust fan assembly complies with 96.8.1.2. (96:7.8.3(7)

 

12) The horizontal duct appears that it will be running along the exterior side of the building. Exterior ductwork is required to run vertical wherever possible. 96:7.6.1

a) Explain why the duct is not complying with 96:7.6.1.

 

13) How will the horizontal and/or exterior vertical duct be supported?

Provide elevations showing the supporting method to be used on the inside of the building and on the outside of the building.
