These plans are a resubmittal of the 15410 square foot unsprinklered multiple/mixed occupancy Business, Storage, Special Purpose Industrial, Repair Garage.  The plans are APPROVED with important comments below. 

 

The bay floors within the warehouse service bays must be liquid tight to meet the requirements of NFPA 30A 7.4.4.1.  If service is performed within the covered warehouse as indicated by the contact, this floor must also be liquid tight. 

Provide documentation to the inspector of the product used to meet this requirent. 

 

Note A on sheet 4 is an alternative method aggreed upon between myself, JR and the Architect in lieu of floor drains, due to this being an existing building.  Please provide the inspector with a company policy, employee manual or the like indicating that it is a company policy to clean the floor regularly, and any applicable cleaning schedules.   

 
FYI- Consult with your fire extinguisher contractor for the portable fire extinguisher requirements for this occupancy.(FS 633.061)  
FYI- Please provide building numbers that are a minimum of 6-inches high on the building and/or suite(s) for commercial. These must be visible and legible from the street, therefore the address number may need to be larger than the minimum 6". NFPA 1, 10.13.1.2  
FYI- Air handles with more than 2000 CFM is required to have duct smoke detectors. If these detectors are concealed they shall have a remote visual and audible indicators located in a normally occupied space. (NOTE if there is a FIRE ALARM SYSTEM in the building the duct smoke detector must also be connected to the fire alarm system. In those cases only a visual indicator is required) NFPA 90A,4.4.2  
FYI- All doors that have dead bolts shall use thumb type single cylinder.  
FYI- The emergency lights are required to provide 1-footcandle of illumination on the floor along the exit path. This requirement is subject to a performance test conducted prior to the final. Additional Lights may be required.  
FYI- The elevation of the floor surface on both sides of a door shall not vary by more than a 1/2 inch, and shall be maintained on both sides of the door for a distance not less than the width of the widest leaf. NFPA 101 7.2.1.3.
