As of March 1st, 2009, St. Johns County reviews pools/spas for compliance to the Florida Building Code 2007 and the Virginia Graeme Backer Pool and Spa Safety Act. Therefore all residential pools shall follow the ANSI/APSP-7 2006 Standard for Suction Entrapment Avoidance in Swimming Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and Catch Basins. Please refer to the attached document containing a Checklist and Guide to assist applicants with the minimum information required for permitting pools.
