Pool Safety Features: Please identify the pool safety features, a requirement of this pool permit, (i.e. screen enclosure with door & window alarms, baby barrier fence, fence with water alarms…). This is a requirement for every pool and should be either identified on the pool layout drawing or on the site plan.(FBC-R4501.17.2) PLEASE SPECIFY WHICH TYPE OF ALARMS, DOOR & WINDOW OR WATER ALARM.

POOLS: In-ground and aboveground pools shall be designed to withstand all flood related loads and load combinations.
Pools in a ‘VE’ Flood Zone: Pools in coastal high-hazard areas shall be designed and constructed in conformance with ASCE 24 (per FBC-R322.3.3.1). In-ground and above ground pools shall be designed to withstand all flood-related loads and load combinations. (Engineering required)
1. Pools shall either
a. Be elevated so that the lowest horizontal structural member is at or above the design flood elevation,
b. Be designed and constructed to break away during design flood conditions without producing debris capable of causing significant damage to any structure, or
c. Be designed and constructed to remain in the ground during design flood conditions without obstructing flow that results in damage to any structure (i.e. pile foundation).
2. Pools shall be located and designed to be structurally independent of buildings and structures unless the pools are located in or on elevated floors or roofs that are at or above the design flood elevation.
