Plan reviewed for new Hood Suppression system.
Reviewed using FFPC 7th edition effective Dec. 31, 2020. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC.

RESUBMITTING: A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the Permit Center. B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages or insert new pages in EACH plan set (job and office). One copy of the removed/old pages will need to be resubmitted and labeled "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated in this permit. All plan pages must be the same size. C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation. Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional. - The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comment was addressed. Ex - "top left of page A11" or "Page E1 note 8". - Code responses shall reference Florida Fire Prevention Code 7th Ed. (not Building Code)

1) The plans are small in font type and difficult to read without a magnifying glass, and then, still not able to make out some of the data. NFPA 17A:6.3.1
The plans shall be drawn to an indicated scale or shall be suitably dimensioned and shall be reproducible.

Friday, March 17, 2023 DF: Plans resubmitted enlarged on a 11" x 8.5" paper. While the drawing is larger, the same issue of readable remains. The data has to be clear and readable.

2) From the nozzle number it appears you are using the ANSUL Piranha pre-engineered Suppression System.
Please provide a copy of the ANSUL PIRANHA manual so I can conduct a proper review.

Friday, March 17, 2023 DF: NO Response to comments. I am not able to confirm that this is an Ansul Piranha System. The Brand Name provided in the yellow highlighted area state Brand of System is "CA Tanks 8 Gal". I am not able to find that type of system on the internet nor in the ANSUL Piranha digital book.

5) Show on the plans the manual pull with location data minimums and maximums (see below).
Manual activation shall be located between 42 in. and 48 in. above the floor, be accessible in the event of a fire, be located in a path of egress, and clearly identify the hazard protected. It shall be located a minimum of 3 m (10 ft) and a maximum of 6 m (20 ft) from the protected kitchen appliance(s) within the path of egress. NFPA 96 10.5

6) Movable cooking equipment shall be provided with a means to ensure that it is correctly positioned in relation to the appliance discharge nozzle during cooking operations. NFPA 17a 5.6.4
Provide the method (such as Safety-Set, Caster Positioning, Etc.) that will be used to prevent the cooking from being miss-aligned from the suppression equipment coverage.

11) I attempted to call you office several times today (Friday 02/17/23) but received the automated system. I tried dialing "0" and was told to try again later. I tried the dial by name and received a message that this number is not valid then it hanged up.
***Please call my office this coming Tuesday 03/21/23 so that I can discuss the comments and see if I can get a better under standing of the plans***
