1) 1 set of plans for 5 clearance sheets (M21-4383, M22-285, M21-6999, M21-4308 and M21-4310). This comment will not be signed off until both clearance sheets have all other comments addressed.

2) ALL fire pump system control valves open or closed are required to be supervised. NFPA 20:4.17 It is not clear if all valves are shown supervised. I see only one FTM for the DCDC BFP for example. Dry Riser?
SJC requires the valves to be supervised by the FACP. Verify ALL control valves are supervised.

|
|
3) There is a Post Indicator Valve (PIV) or a back flow preventer assembly (BFP) for this sprinkler system. I do not see the supervision connection for this PIV / BFP. You will need to provide tamper monitoring.
Indicate this on the plans.

4) Will the fire alarm be monitoring the level 1 generator in accordance with NFPA 110:5.6.6, OR will there be a level 1 generator remote annunciator meeting 110:5.6.6 monitoring the generator in the Gate House?
If the remote annunciator is the method of monitoring the level 1 generator you will need to provide a letter from the owner that the generator will be monitored by a constantly occupied Gate House and that at no time will the gate house be unoccupied. Keeping in min the Gate House Occupant cannot go on roving patrols leaving the Gate House unoccupied.
If the Fire Alarm System will be monitoring the Level 1 Generator the following point will need to be monitored:
110:5.6.5.2(4)
Individual alarm indication to annunciate any of the conditions listed in Table 5.6.5.2 and with the following characteristics:
(a) Battery powered
(b) Visually indicated
(c) Have additional contacts or circuits for a common audible alarm that signals locally and remotely when any of the itemized conditions occurs
(d) Have a lamp test switch(s) to test the operation of all alarm lamps
See Table 5.6.5.2 for the required conditions to be monitored and annunciated.
NOTE: The level 1 generator Fire Marshal Permit had not been provided for review at the time of the review of this plan.
