Plans for a 45 head Wet sprinkler system submitted as a NFPA 13D for a triplex.  This is for the aboveground only.  The attic piping will be insulated to provide the freeze protection.  No FD connection provided.

RESUBMITTING: Please make necessary changes and resubmit the complete permit application package. Response to comments / plans / specifications should be submitted to the Permit Center as a resubmission for the original project unless other arrangements are made with the Fire Plan Reviewer or the Fire Plan Review Supervisor.

To help speed the review process you should include a written response to comments summary to clarify and/or illustrate corrections on plans (bubbling, highlighting, or notations are best). Please use the Florida Fire Prevention Code 7th Ed. for all code reference in a response to comments. You are required to remove old pages and reinsert the new pages.

The numbered items require a response or plans to be updated to complete the review.

1) 13D systems are designed for one and two family dwellings.  This is a 3 dwelling building which requires that a 13R system be installed.  Make the necessary changes to the plans and the calculations.  NFPA 13R 1.1.

2) The common sprinkler riser is currently shown in one of the private units garage.   A common sprinkler riser cannot be located within a private unit.  When you relocate it, ensure that it is protected from freezing and indicate how.

The sprinkler riser will be located inside of the exterior insulated garage wall.  The wall will be modified to accommodate the riser and will have an exterior access panel to access the riser without entering the garage.  It will also be installed as such that the section of drywall on the interior of the garage can be removed easily for access if needed.   Per the contractor the riser in the wall will maintain the temperature above 40 degrees.  PJW Thursday, February 3, 2022
