Plan reviewed for Flats #1 Building Fire Alarm System. Kiddie FACP models FX-1000D and FX-64RD FACP's, Annunciator: Kiddie K-RLCD addressable system. FACP reports to the Gate House Main FACP and the Gate House FACP dials out to monitoring company.

Reviewed using FFPC 7th edition effective Dec. 31, 2020. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC.

RESUBMITTING:
A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the Permit Center.
B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages or insert new pages in EACH plan set (job and office). One copy of the removed/old pages will need to be resubmitted and labeled "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated in this permit.
C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation.  Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional.
- The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comment was addressed. Ex - "top left of page A11" or "Page E1 note 8".
- Code responses shall reference Florida Fire Prevention Code 7th Ed. (not Building Code)

 

1) 1 set of plans for 5 clearance sheets (M21-4383, M22-285, M21-6999, M21-4308 and M21-4310). This comment will not be signed off until both clearance sheets have all other comments addressed.

 

2) The matrix needs to show the following BDA (Two Way Radio) monitoring points: NFPA 1225:18.14.1.2

(2) System supervisory signals shall include the following:

(a) Signal source malfunction

(b) Active RF-emitting device failure

(c) Low-battery capacity indication when 70 percent of the 12-hour operating capacity has been depleted

(d) Active system component failure

(3) Power supply supervisory signals shall include the following for each RF-emitting device and active system components:

(a) Loss of normal ac power

(b) Failure of battery charger

(4) The communications link between the fire alarm system and the in-building emergency responder communications enhancement system shall be monitored for integrity.

 

3) There is a Post Indicator Valve (PIV) or a back flow preventer assembly (BFP) for this buildings sprinkler system. I do not see the supervision connection for this PIV / BFP. You will need to provide tamper monitoring.

Indicate this on the plans.

 

4) Sheet Fa-11 shows two locations indicating the fire alarm system continues up to the roof. What fire alarm system devices are on the roof? Show these devices on the plans.
