1) Duct work does not make most direct route to outside. It runs 25' horizontally before turning outside. NFPA 96:7.1.2 requires the duct to lead directly to exterior of the building, so as not to unduly increase any fire hazard. Re work duct work to a more direct route to exterior of the building.
REminder: Going up would be about 5', front 4' or directly out wall behind hood. While I agree going out the front would not be aesthetically appeasing and going directly out to the patio is not an option but going up is 5 times less the distance. Also the currently submitted duct is horizontal vs the preferred vertical pitch of duct work as articulated in annex of 96:A.7.1.2.
Friday, November 21, 2025 Response to comments provided. To see lull response see scanned image. In short their response reads "...the routing shown for the hood exhaust system is the nearest, code compliant, direct access to the exterior of the building..."

2) What is wall make up or construction type from behind hood to floor? I am looking to check clearances from behind the hood all the way to the floor. Show compliance with 96:4.2 by providing wall construction make up AND how clearances will be achieved from hood to floor.
Friday, November 21, 2025 The response to comment indicates it is stainless steel installed over the existing wall. Tile on 5/8" drywall and 16GA cold formed steel framing over 8" CMU/concrete and extends 18" beyond each end of the hood.

3) M3.3 is for the suppression system. Either: a) remove suppression page(S) b) have suppression permit application along with all supporting documentation for suppression review.
Friday, November 21, 2025 Response to comment indicates "The fire suppression permit application package has been added to this permit package."
No permit application is included nor was turned into permit tech for review upon resubmittal. Upon resubmittal make sure suppression permit application is turned in to permit tech upon resubmittal.
Monday, November 24, 2025 Plans resubmitted and M3.3 removed.

4) Unable to locate kitchen equipment manufacturer spec sheets or make/model along with equipment arrangement. All I saw was on M3-7, was electric appliance on left and gas on right. Provide equipment layout from L to R along with manufacturer spec sheets showing equipment is listed. 96:13.1
Friday, November 21, 2025 Response to comment indicates "The equipment is listed on the attached equipment schedule (sheet A1-0b). The tag references on the schedule on are shown on the attached equipment plan (sheet A1-0a). The equipment is arranged as follows (from left to right, looking at the hood): breading station, pressure fryer (electric), stainless steel table, fryer (electric), stainless steel table, combi-oven."
Newly provided A1-0b does show equipment schedule but at the bottom it reads "Equipment schedule is preliminary and is for informational purposes. Coordinate final equipment selection and rough-in requirements prior to rough-in". Since the equipment was called out in the response I will use the manufacturer and model number referenced on A1-0b.
