Plan reviewed for new 8,037 Sf Type VB(V(000)) construction, Non-Sprinkled Class B Mercantile (convenience store) with Separately Permitted Car Wash, Fuel Tanks, Fuel Canopy, Generator, EV Charging Stations.
Reviewed using FFPC 8th edition effective Dec. 31, 2023. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC.

RESUBMITTING: A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the permit center. You may not make handwritten alterations on signed and sealed plan pages. B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages or insert new pages in EACH plan set (Job and Office). One copy of the removed/old pages from the JOB Copy will need to be submitted and marked "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated to this permit. All plan papers must be the same size. C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation. Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional. - The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comments was addressed. EX - "Top Left of Page E1-1" or "Page E1 Note 8". - Code responses shall reference Florida Fire Prevention Code, 8th Ed.

1) One (1) set of plans for 6 Clearance Sheets (C25-1571, C25-1571*1, C25-1571*2, C25-1571*3, C25-1571*4, C25-1571*5). This comment will not be signed off until all Clearance Sheets have all of their comments addressed.

2) Plan set contains duplicate “R” (refrigeration) Sheets: R0.0, R1.0, R2.0, R3.0, R4.0, R5.0, R6.0, R6.1 and R7.0.
a) Remove the duplicate Sheets leaving the larger set (matching the main plan Sheet size, OR
b) Provide a Sheet by Sheet summary pointing out the differences AND renumber the Sheets so there are no duplicate Sheet numbers.

4) Common path of travel from the inside of Freezer 109C through the Beer Cave 109A closest path to front of Cashier Counter 101 is approximately 120 to 125 feet. Common Path for a non-sprinkled Class B Mercantile is 75 feet. 101:36.2.5.2(1).
How will you meet the Common Path requirement of 101:36.2.5.2.

5) Emergency Lighting (EL): There are some areas that appear the EL’s will not provide EL coverage along the egress paths.
Provide emergency lighting photometrics demonstrating compliance with 101:7.9.2.1.1.

6) Exit signs on both the LSP and Electrical Sheet E1-1 do not match. Both the LSP and Electrical Sheets are to match.
Also, the exit sign at door #107 is missing. An exit sign is also needed at Door 104 (Kitchen). 101:36.2.10.

7) CO2 Monitoring: Life Safety Sheet A1-0a shows the CO2 detection/warning system locations. Current CO2 strobe locations are not positioned to warn the cooking areas. The Control Unit is indicated to be on the Low Voltage wall. The control panel is required to outside the hazard area. NFPA 55:13.11, NFPA 1:63.9
a) Move the CO2 control unit to outside of the hazard room
b) Provide CO2 warning signage [NFPA 1:63.9.9] outside of doors 103, 104 and 105A.

8) Sheet A1-0a shows in red marker “Pizza Combi” Oven where Item #110 is located and the Rotisserie 140 and 140a is marked out with a red “X”. However, the Equipment Schedule on Sheet A1-0b does not reflect this change.
Update both Sheet A1-0a and A1-0b.

9) Type 1 grease hood, duct and suppression system are to be a deferred submittal. No review is being conducted currently for the hood, duct and its suppression system.
Sheets M3-1, M3-2, M3-3, M3-4, M3-5, M3-6, M3-7, M3-8, M3-9, M3-10 and M3-11 contain econ-air type-1 grease hood, duct and/or suppression system.
Either Remove these Sheets or mark them: “TYPE-1 GREASE HOOD, DUCT AND SUPPRESSION ARE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL AND SHOWN HERE FOR REFERENCE ONLY”.

10) NOTE: While the duct is not being reviewed currently, it is noted that the duct is running approximately 35 feet horizontally inside the building before turning 90 degrees horizontally to the outside.
NFPA 96:7.1.2 requires the duct to lead directly to exterior of the building, so as not to unduly increase any fire hazard.
