Plans for an aboveground 601 head NFPA 13 Wet fire sprinkler system for a 2 story office building submitted under the interior buildout permit, not the shell. Per the sprinkler contractor (David Weston, WW Gay) the shell and the interior buildout will be constructed and completed concurrently. I mentioned that the shell building connote be approved until the sprinkler (submitted under buildout) is approved. He understood. This arrangement is permitted by conversation with the Fire Marshal and Assistant Fire Marshal.
The system is designed with a 3 riser manifold at the point of connection (1'AFF). The manifold has 3 4" risers, one that feeds the roof system, one for the second floor and one for the first floor, all are wet systems. The FDC is a yard FDC that ties in prior to the manifold prior to the risers. There are 9 Remote areas as follows: 1st floor- 1-Light Hazard .10gpm/1500sf, 2-Light Hazard .10gpm/1500sf, 3- Light Hazard .10gpm/1500sf, 4-Light Hazard .10gpm/1500sf. 2nd floor- 1-Ordinary Hazard 1 .15gpm/1500sf, 2-Light Hazard .10gpm/1500sf, 3-Ordinary Hazard II .20/1500sf, 4-Light Hazard 1.10gpm/1500sf. 3rd floor- 1-Ordinary Hazard I- .15/1500sf.
