Plan Rejected for underground fire main for Building 4: 266,242 SF warehouse and Building 5: 280,801 SF warehouse.

  • Connecting to existing 12" water main
  • 12" RPDA BFP
  • 12" DR-18 pipe connecting to fire pump
  • 10" DR-18 pipe coming out of the fire pump building.
  • 10" fire main around entire site. (Boosted by fire pump)
  • 10 fire hydrant assemblies.

Both buildings 4 and 5 fire sprinkler systems are going to be supplied in the same manor:

  • Teeing off of 10" fire main with 10"x6" tee in 6 locations.
  • 6" gate valve
  • 6" DR-18 fire main
  • Each building has 3 separate 6" in-building risers finishing 1' AFF.  

Reviewed using FFPC 8th edition effective Dec. 31, 2023. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC.

Review by the AHJ shall not relieve the applicant of the responsibility for compliance with the Code.  

 

1. The shop drawings submitted with the permit do not match the most current civil plans. Reference MODCP 2024-159. The MODCP is still under review with the county. Please do not re-submit until you obtain the most current civil drawings for this fire main. Please adjust the submittal data sheets to meet the most current civil plans.

 

2. Plans show a 12" RPDA BFP. Submittal data sheet submitted specifies a 10" RPDA BFP. Please address.

 

3. A fire pump is going to be boosting this entire fire main for the site and the 2 warehouses. The fire pump will be reviewed under a different permit, however, please indicate how the 12" line coming in and the 10" line going out are going to finish 1' AFF in the pump building. Are there going to be in-building risers used? Please clarify and provide the appropriate submittal data sheets.

 

RESUBMITTING:
A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the permit center. You may not make handwritten alterations on signed and sealed plan pages.
B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages or insert new pages in EACH plan set (Job and Office). One copy of the removed/old pages from the JOB Copy will need to be submitted and marked "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated to this permit. All plan papers must be the same size.
C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation. Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional.
- The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comments was addressed. EX - "Top Left of Page E1-1" or "Page E1 Note 8".
- Code responses shall reference Florida Fire Prevention Code, 8th Ed.
