1. Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 61G15-32.002 defines a material deviation as "Any deviation from the design parameters established and documented by the Engineer of Record." Furthermore FAC 61G15-32.003(6) states "When layout documents contain material deviation from the Engineer of Record's Fire Protection System Engineering Document, such layout documents are not compliant unless they are accompanied by revised Engineering Documents made and sealed by the Engineer of record for the Fire Protection System."

According to the shop drawing provided, the hospital's fire main being supplied after the fire pump for the hospital is an 8" line. However, Page FP100 of the Fire Protection Site Plan from Construction Documents Volume 3 MEPT, shows a 6" line coming from the fire pump. Please clarify which diameter line is going to be used for the fire main after the fire pump to lead into the hispital. Be advised, the sizes of FDC line and the backflow preventer may need to be changed as well if changes are made. Please show on the shop drawings.

2. Backflow preventers serving fire sprinkler systems are required to be electronically monitored. Please indicate how this is going to be achieved.

If conduit is going to be used, please show it on the shop drawings.

Please coordinate with the fire alarm contractor.
