RESUBMITTING: Please make necessary changes and resubmit the complete permit application package. Response to comments / plans / specifications should be submitted to the Permit Center as a resubmission for the original project unless other arrangements are made with the Fire Plan Reviewer or the Fire Plan Review Supervisor.

To help speed the review process you should include a written response to comments summary to clarify and/or illustrate corrections on plans (bubbling, highlighting, or notations are best). Please use the Florida Fire Prevention Code 7th Ed. for all code reference in a response to comments. You are required to remove old pages and reinsert the new pages.

The numbered items require a response or plans to be updated to complete the review.

1) Provide a complete code analysis for this project. One addressing the pier and one addressing the pavilion. NFPA 1: 1.7.12

Please illustrate occupancy type and compliance with the adopted edition of the Florida Fire Prevention Code. 

Example of items that need to be addressed: Code and editions, Occupancy of structure/project, extinguishers, emergency lights, address.  

NOTE: A parallel code analysis of the Florida Fire Prevention Code and the Florida Building Code is permitted.

Provide occupant load for the pavilion in accordance with 101:Table 7.3.1.2. (Assembly)

4) Provide manufacturer specification documentation on the cooking equipment (30" natural gas grill).

5) NFPA 307:4.3.3.1 requires fire sprinkler system for combustible structures unless the structure meets ALL of 307:4.3.3.1.1(a), (b), (c), (d), and (e).

a) Does the pier decking comply with NFPA 307:4.3.3.1.1(1)?

b) What is the separation distance between the pier and the pavilion? NFPA 307:4.3.3.1.1(3)

Wednesday, August 11, 2021 DF: Response to comments:

(1) The provided deck at a max is 20' wide which is less than the required 25' in width.

(2) 575 sf is the total area for the pier which is less than the required 5000 sf. Additionally the approach ways are at a max 20' in width.

(3) The edge of the covered pavilion is 30' away from the adjacent open-air pavilion.

(4) There are no surrounding superstructures.
