Plan reviewed for New Type 1 Hood; Accurex Low Proximity 48"L x 36" W x 36" Bottom Model XBEP-48.00-S. 10 Round listed Double Wall Listed Duct with a Accurex Model XCUE-140HP-VG Upblast Exhaust Fan.
Reviewed using FFPC 7th edition effective Dec. 31, 2020. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC.

RESUBMITTING: A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the Permit Center. B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages or insert new pages in EACH plan set (job and office). One copy of the removed/old pages will need to be resubmitted and labeled "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated in this permit. C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation. Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional. - The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comment was addressed. Ex - "top left of page A11" or "Page E1 note 8". - Code responses shall reference Florida Fire Prevention Code 7th Ed. (not Building Code)

1) Plans call for a Model XPEB-48.00-S Hood. The cut sheet is for a Model XBEP Hood. This appears to be a typo? If so please update the plans or the cut sheet appropriately.

3) Plans call for a 10" Round listed Double Wall Jeremia Duct. I spoke with Randy Crews from Tech X Services and he said that he thinks it is a single wall duct because there of the non combustible construction.
a) Determine whether it is a single wall or double wall and which model duct it is and update the plans accordingly.
b) Mark / Identify on the cut sheet which model duct it is.

4) Plans show the duct makes a "S" curve on the way up to the roof. I do not see any cleanouts. 96:7.4.1.1, 96:7.3.1, 96:7.4.3
a) Provide elevation(s) showing the location of the cleanout(s).
b) Provide size of cleanout.
c) Provide manufacturers cut sheet for the cleanout access panel.

5) Plans indicate the up blast fan assembly is hinged with a hold open device for servicing. I did not see the comment for a flexible weatherproof electrical cable. 96:7.8.2.1(8)

6) I did not see where the replacement (makeup) up air is coming from. 96:8.3.1
a) If the makeup air is from the A/C system, provide the calculations for the makeup air demonstrating compliance with 96:8.3.1.
b) If there is an independent makeup air system for the hood, show the information on the make up air system demonstrating compliance with 96:8.3.1.

Thursday, September 1, 2022 DF: Reviewers Comments: Plans sheet 3 of 3 shows the makeup air is a part of the building RTU system. A email document provided from McVeigh & Mangum Engineering dated 08/17/2022 indicates the makeup air from the RTU will be sufficient.
