Plan APPROVED for private underground fire main (2575' 10" DR-18, 265' 6" DR-18, 130' 4" DR-18)  in complex starting with 10" DCDA BFP (to be electronically monitored by others) and supplying 4 private fire hydrants, and to 6" PIVs and fire sprinkler in-building risers to 8030 sqft storage bldg. and 5812 sqft daycare/salon. These two buildings each have freestanding FDCs with check valves connected by 4" from the risers.

Once building plans have been submitted for the Collision Center and Sales/Detail Center, a revision can be submitted to cover the two fire sprinkler lines to these buildings. (Both of these buildings have their FDCs on the buildings)

ATTENTION FIRE PLAN REVIEWER: SPRINKLER RISERS REQUIRED TO HAVE CHECK VALVE

General Requirements:
- Top of the pipe shall be buried not less than 2 1/2 ft to prevent mechanical damage (NFPA 24:10.4.2.2.2)
- Pipe under driveways shall be buried at a minimum depth of 3 ft (NFPA 24:10.4.2.2.3)
- All aboveground pipe (including backflow) shall be protected against freezing. (NFPA 24:12.2.3)
- Backflow preventer shall be electronically monitored. (NFPA 24:6.7.2)

PLEASE COORDINATE WITH FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR TO ALLOW BFP TO BE ELECTRONICALLY MONITORED BY FIRE ALARM SYSTEM.

Fire Hydrant shall: 
- painted red to indicate private (LDC 6.03.03.C.10)
- set on flat stone or concrete slab (NFPA 24:7.1.3)  
- outlet threads are NHS external threads (NFPA 24:7.1.2)  
- center hose outlet not less than 18 in. above final grade and facing the roadway (NFPA 24:7.3.3)

Fire Dept Connection shall be Storz connection with 30 degree angle and shall:
- 36" clearance in front and side of FDC
- Have check valve (NFPA 13)
- Have cap in place. (NFPA 24 5.9.1)
- Labeled as to which building is serves by either the address or building name. (NFPA 24 5.9.5)
