2) The plans indicate to use CaptiveAire model DW listed duct, unless the 18" clearance to combustibles is not met then the DW-2R double wall is required. Which one are you using?

3) What is the wall behind the hood and the cooking equipment constructed of? Demonstrate compliance with NFPA 96:4.2 or 4.2.3 all the way from the top of the hood to the floor.

Wood Framing, Gypsum and stainless panel per contractor. Per the code sections below, 18” clearance to combustibles (wood studs) must be maintained from behind the hood all the way to the floor. There are methods indicated to reduce this. Provide the method to reduce the clearance.
Note: the 3” standoff provided as part of the hood is not sufficient in itself to meet the clearance to combustibles, only limited combustibles. This is also noted on the CaptiveAire sheet 2.

Roof plan provided does not indicate where the makeup air is being provided from. I looked up the scanned roof plan with the construction plans and it was not clear either. Provide this information so I can be assured that the clearance above can be maintained. PJW Wednesday, January 12, 2022
