Plan APPROVED for private RED fire hydrant off 8" DR-18 pipe. In addition 6" gate valve, to 6" BFP to 95 ft 6" DR-18 pipe to inbuilding riser that was previously approved. Note: J. Smith of G&H Underground authorized changes to size of pipes and valves on plan.

Fire Hydrant shall: 
- painted red to indicate private (LDC 6.03.03.C.10)
- set on flat stone or concrete slab (NFPA 24:7.1.3)  
- outlet threads are NHS external threads (NFPA 24:7.1.2)  
- center hose outlet not less than 18 in. above final grade and facing the roadway (NFPA 24:7.3.3)

**General Requirements:
- Top of the pipe shall be buried not less than 2 1/2 ft to prevent mechanical damage (NFPA 24:10.4.2.2.2)
- Pipe under driveways shall be buried at a minimum depth of 3 ft (NFPA 24:10.4.2.2.3)
- All aboveground pipe (including backflow) shall be protected against freezing. (NFPA 24:12.2.3)
- Backflow preventer shall be electronically monitored by fire alarm. Please coordinate with fire alarm contractor. 

**Pipe being installed is required to be pressure tested. If it is an extension of existing pipe, new pipe must be isolated by a valve or the entire pipe will be required to be pressurized back to the backflow preventer.**
