Plan REJECTED for fire main for overall site, Kennel Staff/Training, Kennel B, Kennel C, Quarantine Kennel, and Food Storage building.
Scope begins 8" DCDA backflow, 530 ft (+/-) 8" DR-18 to supply two private RED fire hydrants; 425 ft (+/-) 6" DR-18 to supply fire risers 1' AFF for Kennel Staff/Training, Kennels B, C, and Quarantine Kennels; stub outs to Kennels A, and D, Vet Clinic, K-9 Training and Admin buildings. (These 5 buildings required separate underground fire main permit to finish to risers); 130 ft (+/-) 4" DR-18 to supply fire riser 1' AFF for Food Storage building.

1. Regarding the backflow preventer, it is noted it will be freeze protected. The backflow is required to be electronically supervised per EOR of sprinkler on page FP1.1 and required by 101:42.2.4.1 101:42.2.5 101:38.2.5.2.1 101:38.2.5.3.1. Please acknowledge accommodation for monitoring the backflow will be made for the fire alarm contractor.

2. Regarding Fire Dept Connections for all the buildings, they are required to be freestanding out by the road. This was mentioned during the civil review. Additional the EOR of fire sprinkler system states remote freestanding FDCs to be installed off dedicated fire riser check valve and downstream of fire riser check valve in accordance with NFPA 13. Please provide updated utility plans showing the freestanding FDCs by the road including size of pipe.

3. FDC connections on piping LARGER than 2 inches shall be equipped with a five (5) inch Storz connection and shall have a 30 degree downward deflection. (NFPA 24:5.9.1.2, and 5.9.2.4) Please provide submittal sheets for the Storz FDCs.

- Have caps in place. (NFPA 24 5.9.1)
- Labeled as to which building is serves by either the address or building name. (NFPA 24 5.9.5)

**General Requirements:
- Top of the pipe shall be buried not less than 2 1/2 ft to prevent mechanical damage (NFPA 24:10.4.2.2.2)
- Pipe under driveways shall be buried at a minimum depth of 3 ft (NFPA 24:10.4.2.2.3)
