Plan reviewed for modification to an existing wet sprinkler system for a unit buildout. 8 upright and 20 pendant on flex pipe in suspended ceiling.

Reviewed using FFPC 7th edition effective Dec. 31, 2020. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC.

RESUBMITTING: Please make necessary changes and resubmit the complete permit application package. Response to comments / plans / specifications should be submitted to the Permit Center as a resubmission for the original project unless other arrangements are made with the Fire Plan Reviewer or the Fire Plan Review Supervisor.

To help speed the review process you should include a written response to comments summary to clarify and/or illustrate corrections on plans (bubbling, highlighting, or notations are best). Please use the Florida Fire Prevention Code 7th Ed. for all code reference in a response to comments. You are required to remove old pages and reinsert the new pages.

The numbered items require a response or plans to be updated to complete the review.

1) No manufacturers specification sheets provided. Provide 2 copies of the manufacturers spec sheets.

Tuesday, August 10, 2021 DF: I spoke with Carl Wright regarding this comment. I agreed to hold the review open until Thursday 08/12/21 noon before I will have to reject the plans.

2) Plans indicate heads to be installed center of tile (UNO). Isometric indicates flex piping. NFPA 13 9.2.1.3.3.2 

Provide spec sheet for suspended ceiling tile grid showing it meets ASTM C 635.

NFPA 13 9.2.1.3.3.4 *   Where flexible sprinkler hose fittings are used to connect sprinklers to branch lines in suspended ceilings, a label limiting relocation of the sprinkler shall be provided on the anchoring component.
An example of language for the label is as follows: CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE THIS LABEL. Relocation of this device should only be performed by qualified and/or licensed individuals that are aware of the original system design criteria, hydraulic criteria, sprinkler head listing parameters, and knowledge of the state and local codes including NFPA 13 installation standards. Relocation of the device without this knowledge could adversely affect the performance of this fire protection and life safety system.
