Plans for a 132 head NFPA 13 fire sprinkler system for a retail shell addition (3 units). The plans indicate 2 risers supplying the addition fed by an 8" Main that is supplied by an existing 80 psi diesel fire pump. This plan is for the aboveground only. The system is designed as Ordinary Hazard Group II .20 density over 1500sf. The plans are NOT APPROVED for the following reasons:

Number 6 on the sprinkler design criteria by James M. Curtis PE indicates that "layout documents shall be submitted to the Engineer of Record for verification of compliance". Submit plans indicating approval from the EOR. This is an approval stamp, I am not requiring the plans to be sealed.

Sprinkler criteria (D) indicates maximum 130sf sprinkler head spacing. The plans show 256sf spacing.

The sprinkler criteria appears to reference only a single riser, whereas the plan was submitted with 2 risers (one in the riser room, and one in suite JR106. In addition the approved DRC site plan indicates 3 risers, one for each suite. Ensure that the EOR in on board with 2 risers. (His approval of the shop drawing will demonstrate this)
