Code analysis on page A1 now identifies the building SF as 2,468. Plan review for 1st resubmittal. Page A1 submitted includes Life Safety Plan and code analysis.

To help speed the review process you should include a written comment response summary to clarify or illustrate corrections on plans (bubbling, highlighting or notations are best). Please use the Florida Fire Prevention Code 6th Ed for all code reference in a response to comments. The fire plans examiner does not use the Florida Building Code. You are required to remove old pages and reinsert the new pages.
The numbered items require a response or plans to be updated to complete the review.

1) Provide a complete code analysis for this project. NFPA 1: 1.7.12 Please illustrate occupancy type and compliance with the adopted edition of the Florida Fire Prevention Code. Contact an Architect to illustrate Code compliance.
Example of items that need to be addressed: Code and editions, Occupancy of structure/project, fire protection system(s) if included, exit sizes, exit numbers, extinguishers, emergency lights, exit signage, address, light weight truss, what will be in there or processes could present other requirements.

Wednesday, June 10, 2020 The resubmittal electrical page for building A (E2.1) contains the wrong building/corridor layout. I am not able to verify emergency light coverage of means of egress based on the wrong building layout. No specification sheets were provided.
a) Remove building “B” from page E2.1, correct building A’s building layout and identify the emergency lighting of the means of egress.
b) Provide specification sheets for the emergency lighting to be installed. The emergency lighting on page E2.1 show they are 39 feet apart.
NOTE: Most wall packs are listed for a mounting height of 7.5 feet with spacing between devices of around 10 feet, while providing the required illumination to between 3 to 6 feet from the wall.

Wednesday, June 10, 2020 Automatic lighting controls were noted on the resubmittal electrical pages.
NFPA 101: 7.8.1.2.2 Unless prohibited by Chapters 11 through 43, automatic lighting control devices shall be permitted to temporarily turn off the illumination within the means of egress, provided that each lighting control device complies with all of the following: (1) In new installations, the lighting control device is listed. (2) The lighting control device is equipped to automatically energize the controlled lights upon loss of normal power and is evaluated for this purpose. (3) Illumination timers are provided and are set for a minimum 15-minute duration. (4) The lighting control device is activated by any occupant movement in the area served by the lighting units. (5) In new installations, the lighting control device is activated by activation of the building fire alarm system, if provided. (6) The lighting control device does not turn off any lights relied upon for activation of photoluminescent exit signs or path markers. (7) The lighting control device does not turn off any battery-equipped emergency luminaires, unit equipment, or exit signs.
Be Prepared to Show Compliance at the time of your Fire Alarm Final or Fir Final.
