Plans for a 1232 head NFPA 13 fire sprinkler system for a large assisted living facility. The system is designed as light hazard .10 density with 2 wet systems, and 2 dry systems for the attic fed from a single combination riser manifold. Dry system 1 is 601.99 gallons and dry system 2 is 555.67 gallons.

RESUBMITTING: Please make necessary changes and resubmit the complete permit application package. Response to comments / plans / specifications should be submitted to the Permit Center as a resubmission for the original project unless other arrangements are made with the Fire Plan Reviewer or the Fire Plan Review Supervisor.
To help speed the review process you should include a written response to comments summary to clarify and/or illustrate corrections on plans (bubbling, highlighting, or notations are best). Please use the Florida Fire Prevention Code 7th Ed. for all code reference in a response to comments. You are required to remove old pages and reinsert the new pages.
The numbered items require a response or plans to be updated to complete the review.

1) Elevation/sectional views on FP3.0 do not show heads or piping overlay. Show heads and piping. NFPA 13:23.1.3(4).

2) The RM-1 riser manifold specifications indicate that the pressure relieve kit is optional. If you are using the option, indicate this or demonstrate how NFPA 13:7.1.2 will be met.

3) Criteria sealed by D. Bruce Keeley PE, indicates in section 32.004(2)(D) sub section "C" that allowable K factors are 5.6, 11.2 and 14. The plans submitted indicate a 4.9 K factor for wet system areas as follows:
System 1, remote areas 4 and 5
System 2, remote areas 2 and 3.
Revise calculations accordingly or provide acknowledgement from the EOR for the change in K factor.
Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 61G15-32.002 defines a material deviation as "Any deviation from the design parameters established and documented by the Engineer of Record." Furthermore FAC 61G15-32.003(6) states "When layout documents contain material deviation from the Engineer of Record's Fire Protection System Engineering Document, such layout documents are not compliant unless they are accompanied by revised Engineering Documents made and sealed by the Engineer of record for the Fire Protection System."

4) Provide roof pitches per the attic head specification sheets.

5) The area plans indicated a 1/8" scale, however the scale bar matches a 1/4" scale. It appears the plans themselves alight with 1/8" scale based on the head spacing. Ensure the scale and bar match.

6) Specifications provided for General and Victualic dry system compressors and air maintenance devices. Clarify which one of each you are using.

7) I did not see an indication or specifications for the quick opening device as required by NFPA 13:7.2.3.4.

8) Show piping to all heads. Examples include area A sheet FP1.1, reception area, workroom 503, office 502. FP1.2 area B toilet 222 etc. Double check all heads, include combustible concealed space heads.

9) No sprinkler coverage is indicated for Sauna 516, and Sauna 515. Provide coverage or code exemption from coverage.
