	Manual activation shall be located between 42 in. and 48 in. above the floor, be accessible in the event of a fire, be located in a path of egress, and clearly identify the hazard protected. It shall be located a minimum of 3 m (10 ft) and a maximum of 6 m (20 ft) from the protected kitchen appliance(s) within the path of egress. NFPA 96 10.5 Consult with your fire extinguisher contractor for this special portable fire extinguisher requirement, pay special attention to the following requirement: - mounted with in 30' travel distance of all cooking areas - placards shall be conspicuously placed near each extinguiher that states, "FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM SHALL BE ACTIVATED PRIOR TO USING FIRE EXTINGUISHER.
