Plan reviewed for build out of new 4004sf mercantile in an existing construction type IIB sprinklered building. This unit is separated from its neighbor by a 1 hour rated wall assembly. Reviewed as new mercantile class C using FFPC 6th edition effective Dec. 31, 2017.

Page A611 shows several interior floor finishes. Several of the listed floor finishes show they meet class A or C. Floor finishes are required to meet usually Class I, II, ASTM D 2859 or have a minimum critical radiant flux.

For this project, the contractor will need to provide the fire inspector at time of final a copy of manufacturer spec sheets of floor finish products used showing they all meet either: a) ASTM D 2859 for carpet and carpet like materials or b) has a minimum critical radiant flux of .1 W/cm2 for non carpet flooring. 101:36.3.3.3.

Since there are multiple finishes, please label each spec sheet identifying each product, its location AND highlight the area showing illustrating it meets the applicable Code requirement.

Looking at page E2, there are several locations with occupancy sensors. Make sure occupancy illumination timers are provided and set for a minimum 15-minute duration. Also make sure that lighting control device does not turn off any battery-equipped emergency luminaires, unit equipment or exit signs. 101:7.8.1.2.2
