1.) Page FP3 box 61g15-32.003(4) indicates that the fire protection contractor will need to get their engineer to sign and seal the shop drawings. Per FAC 61G15-32.002(5)(6) after the Fire protection system engineering documents (Criteria) is submitted with the building plans, the shop drawings, when submitted, require no additional engineering input or seal.
Please either: 1) Remove this comment or 2)clarify the comment preparing the fire sprinkler contractor to provide: a) Have ___new engineer____ submit a registered letter to ___EOR____ notifying to reuse the already sealed contract documents therefore assuming all legal responsibility for the system in accordance with FAC 61G15-27.001. or 3) Have the owner or project engineer submit a letter to our office completely removing ___EOR____ as engineer of record for the project. or 4) Have the engineer of record provide a note on the shop plans they approve for design requirements and performance only.
The above comment is in reference to the EOR stating he must approve contractor drawings as stated in the original 61g15-32.003 and 61g15-32.004 (comments #4 on both). You submitted shop drawings signed and sealed by your own Engineer. You can not have 2 engineer of records on one job. Correct and resubmit. Coordinate with John Buchanan,the original EOR.
