Plan reviewed for Ansul R102 fire suppression system to cover 7 appliances under 2 separate hoods. Equipment layout from L to R: 3 - 15 x 15 fryers, 48 x 24 flat grill, 36 x 24 6 eye range with a salamander over range, 38 x 36 oven.  Reviewed using FFPC 6th edition effective Dec. 31, 2017.

Consult with your fire extinguisher contractor for this special portable fire extinguisher requirement, pay special attention to the following requirement: - mounted with in 30' travel distance of all cooking areas - placards shall be conspicuously placed near the extinguiher that states, "FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM SHALL BE ACTIVATED PRIOR TO USING FIRE EXTINGUISHER. (NFPA 1, 13.6.5.3.2)

Manual activation shall be located between 42 in. and 48 in. above the floor, be accessible in the event of a fire, be located in a path of egress, and clearly identify the hazard protected. It shall be located a minimum of 3 m (10 ft) and a maximum of 6 m (20 ft) from the protected kitchen appliance(s) within the path of egress. NFPA 96 10.5

Fusible links or heat detectors located at or within 12 in. (305 mm) into the exhaust duct opening and above the protected appliance shall be permitted to meet the requirements of 17a:5.6.1.5.

At time of final, an approved method shall be provided that will ensure that the appliance is returned to an approved design location. 1:50.6.1.2.3.1
