Plan REJECTED for a 9026 sqft discount store. This is reviewed under 2010 Fl Fire Prevention Code as mercantile.

Page LS-1 states a fire alarm and detection system is to be install in this building. There was no evidence elsewhere in the plan referring to this system. A fire alarm system is not required. Is it truly your intent to install a fire alarm system?

Page LS-1 and FP page indicates a NFPA 13 fire sprinkler system will be installed in this building. It is not required due to the vicinity of utility water mains and the adequate fire flow. Also, the sprinkler main was not shown on the approved utility plan for this site. It is truly your intent to protect this building with a NFPA 13 fire sprinkler system?

The ENGINEERED sealed Design Criteria for a fire sprinkler system exceeding 49 heads that is required for the building permit is incomplete. We are unable to approve the plan until this information is provided. (The Design Criteria is not a full set of shop drawing.) THIS IS WHAT IS REQUIRED BY FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE 61G15-32.004,(A-J) Common Requirements to All Fire Protection Engineering Documents.
(a)-Point of service, it is noted the plan states see civil, but the civil plan does not show fire sprinkler main.
(f)-Please provide flow test data
(g)-Please provide valving and alarm requirements (Please note, although page LS 1 states a fire alarm will be installed, there are no other references to this system.

The building plan is showing the fire riser in the back of the receiving room. These rooms typically are filled with stock. Even if the fire sprinkler plan is removed from the plans, please show a clear path through this area so that employees can not get trapped in this room.

It was not clear if the front sliders at the front exit are break away doors or if the force required to open the door in case of loss of power is less than 30 lbf. Please provide documentation. NFPA 101, 7.2.1

The emergency lights are required to provide 1-footcandle of illumination on the floor along the exit path. This requirement is subject to a performance test conducted prior to the final. Additional Lights may be required. (NFPA 101, 7.8.1)

Exit signs are required to be seen throughout the store. Additional signs may be needed depending on the height of shelving. NFPA 101, 7.10
