This is a plan review for a change of use from a Fire Station to a Place of Assembly (Worship Center). The plans is a complete remodel of the 4,200 sqft space.
Based on this review the plans are Rejected with the following issues noted on the plans:
1. Page A-2, The calculated maximum occupant load based on the Florida Fire Prevention Code for all spaces is 215 persons. The area in question is the open space behind the sanctuary that is labeled corridor. The code does allow the corridor to be in the space but all extra space needs to have an occupant load. The occupant load of 1 person per 7 sqft equals an additional 92 persons. During a meeting today August 8th with the architect/ engineer, to remove the assembly calculation the space would have to be separate and used as a storage area or office, etc.
2. Page A2 & E1 need to address the added required exit signs & emergency lights to meet the illumination and direction requirements of the code.
3. Page E3, circuit 23, emergency lights needs to be part of the lighting circuit 1&2. article 700.12 of the 2008 NEC.
4. Page M4, The kitchen hood noted on the plans is incomplete. You have one or two options, 1- provide all of the required information regarding the hood & duct work on this set of plans, or note on this set of plans that the hood portion of this plan is conceptual and that the mechanical contractor will pull a separate permit that will include all necessary documents regarding the grease hood.
