Plans for 2, Econ Air Hoods Model 5430-EX-2-ACPSP-F that will be abutted end to end. The plans indicate that listed clamped duct will be used.

RESUBMITTING: A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the Permit Center. B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages in EACH plan set (job and office). One copy of the removed/old pages will need to be resubmitted and labeled "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated in this permit. C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation. Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional. - The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comment was addressed. 1) What is the wall behind the hood and the cooking equipment constructed of? Demonstrate compliance with NFPA 96:4.2 or 4.2.3 all the way from the top of the hood to the floor.
Info Note: Even with metal studs, 3” clearance is required to gypsum wall board. Most hoods have a 3” standoff built in, however the same must be provided all the way to the floor.

2) The exhaust fan does not indicate that it is provided with a hinge, hold open retainer and flexible conduit. NFPA 96:7.8.2.1, 8.1.2.1. Also the plans indicate that the fan grease container is an option. Indicate that this will be required.

3) How will you ensure that the cooking equipment will be returned to its original location? Demonstrate compliance with NFPA 96:12.1.2.3.1.

4) The plans indicate on drawing 2 and drawing 19 that CaptiveAire clamped listed round duct will be used, but it is not indicated which model duct and will it be single wall or double wall. What is the clearance to combustibles? Provide specs for the chosen listed duct.

5) If you plan on wrapping the duct to reduce clearances, provide specifications for the proposed wrap.

6) NFPA 96:7.8.2.2 requires access on all sides by a flat surface. Based on the roof pitch indicated on the plans it does not appear that this can be achieved without a work platform. Indicate the planform on the plans.
I believe based on past field experience that this building has a flat roof. Confirm.

7) Provide a floor plan identifying the location of the hood(s) in the building.
