	Plan reviewed for Renovation of approximately 3,391 SF Type IIB(II(III) Construction, Unprotected, Non-sprinkled. NOTE: Non-Separated Class B Mercantile, Assembly (restaurant). Reviewed using Chapter NFPA 101 Chapter 43.5; Modification Scope of Work: Updated checkout counter and equipment, new stock room, new beverage cooler equipment, new janitor laundry, updated kitchen/prep area, Additional walk-in cooler/freezer for new kitchen, addition of air curtains at entry doors, new check out at courtesy desk, new doors at front restrooms, new way finding interior signs. Reviewed using FFPC 8th edition effective Dec. 31, 2023. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC. Reviewer: D. 	RESUBMITTING: A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the permit center. You may not make handwritten alterations on signed and sealed plan pages. B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages or insert new pages in EACH plan set (Job and Office). One copy of the removed/old pages from the JOB Copy will need to be submitted and marked "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated to this permit. All plan papers must be the same size. C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation. Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional. - The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comments was addressed. EX - "Top Left of Page E1-1" or "Page E1 Note 8". - Code responses shall reference Florida Fire Prevention Code, 8th Ed.
	1) The Code Summary does not provide any Florida Fire Prevention Code 8^th Edition (FFPC) references. I do not see any Code Summary referencing the FFPC. a) Provide the FFPC as reference in the Code Summary, Provide FFPC code reference where there is an FBC reference. This can be done separately or in conjunction with the FBC.
	2) Project Information, Occupancy Section identifies this building as a “Group M – Mercantile, Convenience Store per IBC Section 508.2.4 This is a Non-Separated building with A-2 being considered part of the M. Per Section 303.1 Exception 2, A-2 is considered part of Group M. Provide the occupancy classifications in accordance with Chapter 6 of NFPA 101.
	3) Provide the Classification of Hazards of Contents in accordance with Chapter 6 of NFPA 101. NFPA 101:6.2
	4) The scale shown for the drawings is not accurate when an architectural ruler is applied. Example: Sheet A1a Hall 11 shows a measurement of 20’ - 3”. When an architectural ruler is applied the measurement is approximately 30’. Update the plans so the scale and measurements match.
	5) Corridor 11 (Hall 11) has a dead-end travel distance greater than 20’ (unable to give an accurate travel distance as the scale is not correct). 101:36.2.5.3.2, 101:12.2.5.3 Update the plans so the dead-end corridor is 20’ or less.
	6) Unable to verify the common path of travel distances as the scale is not correct. Verify all travel distances and common paths of travel is within the limits provided by 101:36.2.5.
	7) Provide Emergency Lighting Photometrics in the Scope of Work Areas demonstrating compliance with 101:7.9.2.1.1.
	8) Plans do not provide Exit signage in the LSP and the Electrical Sheets. I am unable to verify compliance with the travel distances, common paths, signage requirements, etc. 101:36.2.10, 101:12.2.10 Provide exit signage (existing and new) so that I can verify means of egress from all scope of work areas and non-scope of work areas affected by this renovation. Exit signs are to match in both the LSP and in the Electrical Sheets.
	) Plans include CaptiveAire Sheets for a type-1 Grease hood and suppression system. St Johns County requires Type-1 Grease Hoods and Suppression systems to be deferred submittals. a) Either remove these Sheets from the plan set OR, Mark the Sheets “THIS SHEET IS FOR INFORMATION/REFERENCE ONLY AND WILL BE PROVIDED AS A DEFERRED SUBMITTAL”.
	10) Sheet A1A shows the Laundry Room wall is being rebuilt and the previous door being filled in with a 1-hour fire separation. The remaining walls of the laundry room are not shown as being fire rated. Provide the separation rating of the laundry room walls. Verify/Show compliance with 101:12.3.2.1.2(2)(a), 101:36.3.2.1, 101:8.7.1.1
	11) I am unable to locate any Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors in the kitchen area and at the first HVAC supply register in accordance with 101:12.3.4.4. Point out or add CO detectors where applicable.
	INFORMATIONAL ONLY NO RESPONSE NECESSARY: The system(s) outlined in this set of plans is conceptual. A HOLD has been placed at insulation inspection (109) until either: a) a permit has been pulled or b) a letter submitted from respective system contractor indicating they evaluated that the existing system meets the occupancies Code requirements and no work to be done to the existing system to meet Code based on the work in this permit: - - Fire Alarm System (Existing) - Fire/Smoke Damper Test/Inspections - Kitchen Hood (Fryer, Pizza Conveyor) - Kitchen Suppression System (Fryer, Pizza Conveyor) - In Building Radio Permit or Passing Test Report - - - - - -
