Reviewed using Chapter NFPA 101 Chapter 43.5; Modification
Scope of Work: Updated checkout counter and equipment, new stock room, new beverage cooler equipment, new janitor laundry, updated kitchen/prep area, Additional walk-in cooler/freezer for new kitchen, addition of air curtains at entry doors, new check out at courtesy desk, new doors at front restrooms, new way finding interior signs.
Reviewed using FFPC 8th edition effective Dec. 31, 2023. NFPA 1 and 101 references are Florida Editions of the code in the FFPC.

RESUBMITTING: A. Make necessary changes and resubmit everything in person to the permit center. You may not make handwritten alterations on signed and sealed plan pages. B. Once at the Permit Center swap out altered pages or insert new pages in EACH plan set (Job and Office). One copy of the removed/old pages from the JOB Copy will need to be submitted and marked "OLD". Do not forget to remove pages for work not associated to this permit. All plan papers must be the same size. C. Provide a response to comments along with any supporting documentation. Response to comments is REQUIRED not optional. - The response to comments sheet will need to include a response to each numbered comment and tell us where in the plans the comments was addressed. EX - "Top Left of Page E1-1" or "Page E1 Note 8". - Code responses shall reference Florida Fire Prevention Code, 8th Ed.

1) The Code Summary does not provide any Florida Fire Prevention Code 8th Edition (FFPC) references. I do not see any Code Summary referencing the FFPC.

2) Project Information, Occupancy Section identifies this building as a “Group M – Mercantile, Convenience Store per IBC Section 508.2.4 This is a Non-Separated building with A-2 being considered part of the M. Per Section 303.1 Exception 2, A-2 is considered part of Group M.
Provide the occupancy classifications in accordance with Chapter 6 of NFPA 101.

Provide exit signage (existing and new) so that I can verify means of egress from all scope of work areas and non-scope of work areas affected by this renovation. Exit signs are to match in both the LSP and in the Electrical Sheets.

) Plans include CaptiveAire Sheets for a type-1 Grease hood and suppression system. St Johns County requires Type-1 Grease Hoods and Suppression systems to be deferred submittals.
