Friday, November 20, 2009 This is an existing building that was permitted before Oct. 1,1997 via phone conversation with Mr. Lucas, therefore as an alteration the FACBC does not apply. The square footage issue still needs resolve. As per the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction (FACBC) Section 11-4.1.2 states - An accessible site shall meet the following minimum requirements: (1) At least one accessible route complying with Section 11-4.3 shall be provided within the boundary of the site from public transportation stops, accessible parking spaces, passenger loading zones (if provided) and public streets or sidewalks, to an accessible building entrance (2)At least one accessible route shall connect accessible buildings, accessible facilities, accessible elements and accessible spaces that are on the same site (3) All objects that protrude for the surfaces or posts into circulation paths shall comply with Section 11-4.4. (4) Ground surfaces along accessible routes and in accessible spaces shall comply with Section 11-4.5 and (5) accessible parking spaces. On the Site plan for Construction drawings, please indicate the Gross Floor Area as defined by the Florida Building Code - The floor area within the inside perimeter of the exterior walls of the building under consideration, exclusive of vent shafts and courts, without deduction for corridors, stairways, closets, the thickness of interior walls, columns or other features. Please make sure the Gross Floor area is indicated on the DRC site plan, and that is the same square footage number depicted on the architectural plans submitted for Building permit; otherwise the issuance of Building permit will not be accomplished until both these numbers correlate, and if not this may require a possible resubmittal to DRC. Please also dimension distance between all buildings and the number of stories. Please explain the discrepancy between the square footage shown on the application, the plans and the energy calcs, (all should correlate.)
