Sprinkler plan REJECTED for incomplete package and not enough information. Please provide TWO of everything including another submittal packet which includes ALL components of the system. It is assumed the fire riser is being replaced along with the FDC. Also provide hydraulic calculations with a fire flow less than 1 year ago.

A full review has not been completed so once more information is provided, the review will continue and possible new comments.

During DRC site review, our office was told the underground fire main would not be modified. This project has demo most of the building except for the structural members. Anything 1 foot above finish floor is considered the aboveground fire sprinkler system and reviewed under NFPA 13. Anything below this cut off point is considered underground and falls under NFPA 24. Was any part of the underground modified or demo? If so, only a Class I, II or V can work on the underground. Will you be working on the underground? If so, provide all cut sheets and identify on the plan the scope of work.

The engineer of record for this fire protection system, who set forth the sprinkler/fire alarm design criteria is Mitchell D Simpson. The shop drawings were submitted with a seal from Robert Hinkle. Per FAC 61G15-32.002(5)(6) after the Fire protection system engineering documents (Criteria) is submitted with the building plans, the shop drawings, when submitted, require no additional engineering input or seal. Please either: 1) Resubmit sprinkler/fire alarm shop drawings that are not signed and sealed. or 2) Have Robert Hinkle submit a registered letter to Mitchell Simpson notifying to reuse the already sealed contract documents therefore assuming all legal responsibility for the system in accordance with FAC 61G15-27.001. or 3) Have the owner or project engineer submit a letter to our office completely removing Mitchell Simpson as engineer of record for the project. or 4) Have the engineer of record provide a note on the shop plans they approve for design requirements and preformance only.

If Mitchell Simpson remains the engineer of record, see page P200 of the building plan as there is sprinkler criteria already submitted.

Please address how the wood boards will not interfere with the fire sprinkler flow. Are sprinkler heads planned to penetrate the clouds?

General notes: Your re-submittal shall include two complete sets of plans. Please insert the revised pages into the plan sets, and remove the old pages that are no longer applicable. Resubmit those old JOB COPY pages marked as "old set" and submit with the revised plan set.
If old pages are not resubmitted there may be an additional plan review fee charged due to the amount of time necessary to review entire drawing again.
ALL ITEMS REVISED ON PLANS AND DOCUMENTS SHALL BE IDENTIFIED by circling, clouding or other legible method. ADDITIONAL ITEMS MAY BE REQUIRED - DEPENDING ON INFORMATION AND CLARITY OF FINAL PLANS SUBMITTED FOR REVIEW.
