Plan APPROVED for remodeling 5486 sqft for a new restaurant protected with fire sprinkler and fire alarm system. This is reviewed under 2010 Fl Fire Prevention Code as assembly which includes the 2009 edition of NFPA 101, Life Safety Code.
This is not a light weight truss building.
Holds are placed for sprinkler, alarm, hoods and suppression systems.

Occupant load: Dining A: 52, Dining B: 18, Dining C: 42, Dining D: 32, Dining E: 76 = 220 seats. The occupant load shall be posted in a conspicuous place near the main entrance/exit from the room. Please refer to the Fire Marshal Notation on the plans as to the approved maximum occupant load to be posted. The Posting should read,"Maximum Occupant Load ______ Persons, by order of the Fire Marshal" (NFPA 101, 12.7.9.3)

Regarding the ceiling cloud assemblies, more detail is needed on whether the wood boards meet Class A, B or C and how these will NOT interfere with the fire sprinkler head coverage. Architect stated wood boards will meet Class C finish and note added to page A501 to require documentation. If necessary, sprinkler heads can penetrate the clouds.

See page P200. The Fire Sprinkler Design Criteria is OK for the building permit, Noted a separate permit will be required for the fire protection systems. A HOLD has been placed on the Building Permit and NO inspection can be done past the slab until this permit is approved. ***Per FAC 61G15-32.002(6) The shop drawings once submitted are not required to be sealed by an engineer and will not be accepted as such. Please submit a unsealed sprinkler shop drawings.***

See page E300. The Bldg Dept is requiring this fire alarm to be monitored. The Fire Alarm Design Criteria is OK for the building permit, Noted a separate permit will be required for the fire alarm systems. A 102 HOLD has been placed on the Building Permit and no inspection can be done past the slab until these permits are approved.

Please provide building numbers that are a minimum of 6-inches high on the building and/or suite(s) for commercial. These must be visible and legible from the street, therefore the address number may need to be larger than the minimum 6". (NFPA 1, 10.12.1.2)

FS 633.061 requires a license or permit of organizations & individuals who: service, recharge, test, mark, inspect, install or hydrotest fire extinguishers. It will be necessary to use a Licensed Fire Extinguisher Contractor for identifying the location & type of extinguisher to use.
