This prelim review of a plan for a 2 story church is REJECTED. This was reviewed under 2004 Fl Fire Prevention Code as assembly. The total occupancy load is 797 and this bldg will be protected by a fire alarm and automatic fire sprinkler system. The code analysis is found on page A9.1.

Please clairify the square footage. The application states 15,000 sq ft, the plan states 15,096 sq ft.

 

The final civil plans were not submitted as the DRC process is not complete. These plans can not be approved until DRC process is complete.

 

Are the seats fixed in the sanctuary? If not, they must be gang clipped in groups of no less than 3 and no more than 7. NFPA 101, 12.7.8.1

 

Pg 9.1: Regarding panic hardware, it is required to be a cross bar or push pad that extends across not less than 1/2 the width of door leaf. NFPA 101, 7.2.1.7.1. It does not appear this is proposed.

 
The Fire Marshal requires all plans to include the method of obtaining the required interior finish at plan review, and all documents pertaining to the materials and application of finishes be provided before approval by this office. Although the architect may specify the required finish, documentation is required as to how this will be met.  

Please confirm if the space under the platform or risers will be used for storage or any purpose other than equipment wiring or plumbing. If so, then the floor construction shall not be less than 1 hour fire resistive. NFPA 101, 12.4.5.2.4

 

Even though the underside of the stairs is rated 1 hours, please state on the plan, no storage of combustible, flammable or otherwise hazardous material shall be stored under the stairs. NFPA 101, 7.2.2.5.3.2(3).

 
INFO ONLY: The Fire Sprinkler Design Criteria is OK for the building permit, Noted a separate permit will be required for the fire protection systems. A HOLD has been placed on the Building Permit and NO inspection can be done past the slab until this permit is approved. ***Per FAC 61G15-32.002(6) The shop drawings once submitted are not required to be sealed by an engineer and will not be accepted as such. Please submit a unsealed sprinkler shop drawings.*** Riser to be located in room 113 Mechanical. See page FP1.1.

NOTE: If it is acceptable with utilities, you may use a double detector check valve instead of an RPZ.

A 102 HOLD has been placed on the Building Permit and no inspection can be done past the slab until these permits are approved. FACP located in room 126, Mechanical with annunicator up front. See pages E3.1, E3.2, E5.1.  

Please make sure the fire pump enclosure meets NFPA 20.
