Plan is for 9270 sq ft IBO of 2 story restaurant in a 3 story existing bldg. This bldg is protected by fire sprinkler and fire alarm system. This was reviewed under 2004 Fl Fire Prevention Code as Assembly and Mercantile. The occupant load for second floor is 75. The occupant load for the dining and bar on the first floor is 146. Mercantile load is 13.
On the first floor is 500 sq ft mercantile tied into a restaurant with bar, dining and kitchen on the first floor and a bar with dining on the second floor. ***Fire Rescue was not routed the bridge/stairway plan (#10701504). Using the scanned image, it appears to meet NFPA 101 and will be subject to a Fire Inspection. The travel distance has been met for the second floor regarding the exterior exit.***

 

 Exterior canopies, awnings, etc. exceeding 4 ft in width must be sprinklered. (NFPA 13.8.14.7) Provide documentation on how the area upstairs will be protected by sprinklers. If the sprinkler branches will attach to awning, an engineer will need to document the frame will be able to hold weight of the sprinklers. Specify whether or not the modification of existing sprinkler system is over 49 heads. If so, signed, sealed sprinkler criteria is required before approval. ***The second floor is an assembly occupancy and does not meet the exception NFPA 13.8.14.7.2 & 13.8.14.7.1. That exception is for pedestrian way. FBC 903.2.1.2 also requires this area to be protected by fire sprinklers. Specify whether the entire project will modify 49 or less heads. If it is more, a sprinkler criteria signed and sealed by an engineer is required before approval of this project.***
