Plan is for 9270 sq ft IBO of 2 story restaurant in a 3 story existing bldg. This bldg is protected by fire sprinkler and fire alarm system. This was reviewed under 2004 Fl Fire Prevention Code as Assembly and Mercantile. The occupant load for second floor is 75. The occupant load for the dining and bar on the first floor is 146. Mercantile load is 13. On the first floor is 500 sq ft mercantile tied into a restaurant with bar, dining and kitchen on the first floor and a bar with dining on the second floor. These plans are not approved for the following reasons marked ACTION.

ACTION: The required second means of egress from the second floor exits to outside stairs. However these stairs are not shown on the plan. These stairs must meet NFPA 101, 12.2.6 (Travel distance), 12.2.7 (Discharge from exits), 7.2.2 (Stairs) which includes but not limited to 7.2.2.6.3 (Separation & Protection of outside stairs.) Please provide documentation.

ACTION: Exterior canopies, awnings, etc. exceeding 4 ft in width must be sprinklered. (NFPA 13.8.14.7) Provide documentation on how the area upstairs will be protected by sprinklers. If the sprinkler branches will attach to awning, an engineer will need to document the frame will be able to hold weight of the sprinklers. Specify whether or not the modification of existing sprinkler system is over 49 heads. If so, signed, sealed sprinkler criteria is required before approval.

ACTION: A sealed Design Criterion for the fire alarm system over $5000. is required for the building permit. We are unable to approve the plan until this information is provided. (The Design Criteria is not a full set of shop drawing.) THIS IS WHAT IS REQUIRED BY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE 61G15-33.006,(A-F) Common Requirements to All Fire Protection Engineering Documents.

The Grease Exhaust Hood noted on this page and several other pages throughout these plans are conceptual. A separate permit will be required by the Fire Marshal. A HOLD will be placed on the building permit and NO INSPECTION will be done until this permit is submitted & approved.
