Plan APPROVED for 8213 sqft recovery center (suites 109-114) protected with fire sprinkler system and fire alarm system. This project is reviewed under FAC 69A-44 (Minimum Firesafety Standards for Residential Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment & Prevention Programs) and 2010 Florida Fire Prevention Code as New Board and Care small facility sleeping 16 or fewer.

-Door locks on hallway doors 14 and 41 will be locked at night, however there are 2 means of egress out of this area to the outside. 
-Doors on 1 hour rated corridor (sleeping rooms, kitchen, etc) will be rated 20 min.

**Because this is a small facility, the following is not required:
-Means of Egress and whether a means of escape is required out of each bedroom
-Door closers on all doors in corridor
-Hazardous areas such as laundry room required to be rated**

Regarding the outside covered porches, unless they meet the exceptions in NFPA 13, 8.15, these areas will require fire sprinkler protection. Please consult a fire sprinkler engineer or fire sprinker contractor to determine the requirements.
The scope of work for this project is in the area of an existing fire sprinkler system. A separate fire sprinkler permit is required for any modification to this system. A hold is placed on the Building Permit and no inspections will be done until this Fire Sprinkler Permit is submitted & approved. (NFPA 1,13.1.1.1)

Any reference to the Fire Alarm in these plans are conceptual. A separate permit is required by the Fire Marshal. A HOLD will be placed on the building permit and NO INSPECTION will be done until this permit is submitted & approved. SDs are requried in all sleeping rooms and living areas. (NFPA 101, 32.2.3.4) The CFMs are less than 2000, therefore, no duct dets required. 8/13/2013 smurray

The corridor walls will be rated 1 hour. Any penetrations with the duct will require the appropriate damper.

New furnishings, mattresses, and decorations shall meet NFPA 701 and other appropriate requirements. Documentation is required at the Fire Final Inspection.

The Grease Exhaust Hood noted the pages throughout these plans are conceptual. A separate permit will be required by the Fire Marshal's office. A HOLD will be placed on the building permit and NO INSPECTION will be done until this permit is submitted & approved. Please provide building numbers that are a minimum of 6-inches high on the building and/or suite(s) for commercial. These must be visible and legible from the street, therefore the address number may need to be larger than the minimum 6". (NFPA 1, 10.12.1.2) 8/13/2013 smurray
Locks on exit doors or access exit doors shall not require the use of a key, a tool, or special knowledge or effort for operation from the egress side unless they meet the requirements of NFPA 101, 7.2.1.5. (See the exception noted on the first comment of this review.) 8/13/2013 smurray
FS 633.061 requires a license or permit of organizations & individuals who: service, recharge, test, mark, inspect, install or hydrotest fire extinguishers. It will be necessary to use a Licensed Fire Extinguisher Contractor for identifying the location & type of extinguisher to use. 8/13/2013 smurray

If this is light-weight truss-type construction (repetitive wood  or light guage steel framing) placement of approved Firefighting Safety Warning Sign (Maltese Cross) shall be placed on structure in accordance with FS 633.027 and FAC 69A-60.008 (size, color, height placement)
