The Grease Exhaust Hood noted on this page and several other pages throughout these plans are conceptual. A separate permit will be required by the Fire Marshal. A HOLD will be placed on the building permit and NO FRAMING INSPECTION will be done until this permit is submitted & approved.

The Grease Exhaust Hood requires a FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM. The Fire Marshal's Office requires a separate permit and a HOLD will be placed on the building permit whereby NO FRAMING INSPECTION AND NO FINAL EXHAUST HOOD INSPECTION can be done until this permit is approved.

Consult with your fire extinguisher contractor for the portable fire extinguisher requirement, pay special attention to the requirement of a K type extinguisher that is required in the cooking area.

FIRE LANES shall be marked with free standing signs with the words "NO PARKING FIRE LANE BY ORDER OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT." Such signs shall be 12" by 18" with a white background & red letters and shall be a minimum of 7-feet in height from the roadway to the bottom part of the sign. The sign shall be within sight of the traffic flow and be a maximum of 60 feet apart.(FPC 1.3.5.4)
