RESUBMITTING:  Please make necessary changes and resubmit the complete permit application package. We do not accept responses to comments/ plans/ specifications through email. Contact Building department for resubmittals.

To help speed the review process you should include a written comment response summary to clarify or illustrate corrections on plans (bubbling, highlighting or notations are best).  Please use the Florida Fire Prevention Code 6th Ed for all code reference in a response to comments. The fire plans examiner does not use the Florida Building Code. You are required to remove old pages and reinsert the new pages.

The numbered items require a response or plans to be updated to complete the review.

 

1. Provide a demolition plan showing the current use/layout of this building.  We need to see current layout of interior spaces to do a proper review of space.

 

2. Sheet 1 of 3 shows a fire wall separating the office and warehouse,  How will integrity of this rating be met with the 8 foot window installed?

 

3.  Show egress width in exit doors  entering into the warehouse.

 

Unable to locate where compliance with NFPA 1: Chapter 34 has been illustrated. Please illustrate compliance with ALL of Chapter 34 by addressing each subsection (.1 General, .2 Commodity Class, .3 Building Construction, .4 Storage Arrangement, .5 General Fire Protection, .6 Building Equipment Maintenance and Operations, .7 Protection of Rack Storage, .8 Protection of Rubber Tires, .9 Protection of Rolled Paper, .10 Storage of Idle Pallets). *Do not forget to call out commodity class and group of items being stored other than flammable combustible liquid.

____Will you allow STORAGE in areas GREATER THAN 12,000 sq ft? If bldg sq footage is over 12,000, walls must be shown on the plans depicting areas other than storage.

_____Will you allow GROUP A PLASTICS STORAGE in excess of 5 ft in height over an area exceeding 2500 sq ft in area?

Will there be hazardous materials that will fall under NFPA 1: Chapter 60-75 on property (i.e.- refilling of lp, sales of lp, pool chemicals...)? If so, provide SDS sheet, quantity, how it will be stored (e.g. - 1000g in 1 tank or 1000 1gallon tanks), any chapter specific classifications/levels/categorization spelled out (e.g. level 3 aerosol from chapter 61) and any thing else to show compliance with the appropriate hazardous materials section(s) of 1:60-75.

 
INFORMATION NEED FOR A WAREHOUSE OCCUPANCY: (Please identify on the plans) 1. Identify the commodity of product to be stored. 2. Identify the type storage (racks, pallets, open floor, piles) and arrangement within the storage area of the building. 3. Identify a 36-inch wide aisle that will lead you to the exit. 4. Identify shipping or receiving areas on the plans. Any other operational areas will also have to be identified. 5. Identify hours of operation. If the building will not be occupied when it is dark, emergency lights will not be required. HOWEVER EXIT LIGHTS ARE REQUIRED AND MUST BE SO ARRANGED AS TO BE SEEN THROUGHOUT WAREHOUSE OR DIRECT THE OCCUPANCT TO THE EXIT IF THE SIGNS ARE BLOCKED BY STORAGE. 6. Is there an office in this area?
